Our
Story

Kaleigh and I met on our first day at college - we were in the same honors program, and ended up in multiple classes together even though we were both undecided for a while. Kal was the first one to commit to majoring in history but after a while, I found myself in the same situation. Thus began 4 years of undergrad in the same classes and programs, spending days in the libraries doing homework, talking about politics, and finding our way through thrift stores in our free time. We actually walked the stage together a semester early at graduation!

Fate almost took us in different directions for grad school. We both got offers from universities that were states apart, but when Covid-19 hit and things drastically changed for everyone, we both found ourselves back at our alma mater. This time, we were aiming for masters of museum studies. However much we liked our new course work, we still missed our undergrad classes and found ourselves wishing there was a way to be engaged in history.

And so.... we made one for ourselves. What began as a lighthearted joke soon turned into checking out equipment from the library, and before we knew what was happening, we had started a podcast. Our goal was to talk about history in a casual and approachable way.... like two friends explaining the most interesting things they could find from the past!

We've since completed hundreds of episodes, some lighthearted, some serious, some relevant to current events, some random, but all of them worth learning about. Kal and I aim to focus on important events and figures for heritage months, theme every 5th episode, and occasionally sprinkle in a 'History Mystery' every 25 episodes or so. Although we sometimes modify our posting schedule due to the chaos of full time jobs in our industry, we look forward to bringing you more history for a long time to come!
